Voces Silenciadas is a podcast by Defensores de la Democracia, co-produced with Antifaz. It was supported by The Brown Institute for Media Innovation and exists because of the Ford Foundation’s support.
The first season tells the story about Nevith Condés Jaramillo, a local journalist from Tejupilco in the southern State of Mexico. He was murdered in November 2019. We decided to dedicate the entire season to understanding the life, death and place Nevith lived in.
The podcast was a 2021 Gabo Award Nominee and considered one of the 40 Best Pieces of Journalism in Ibero-America in 2021.
